A transitional meadow represents a temporary stage in ecological succession. Often this is a disturbed landscape undergoing a change from one state to another, marked by open fields (or roadsides) filled with sunlight and rapidly blooming plants. Many of the flowers found here are transplants or are considered invasive. A meadow corresponds to the height of summer, the Shen spirit of the heart, and the fire of transformation.
